Cody Dickson, baritone/countertenor, is enjoying his second year as Assistant Choir Director at CHHS. He initially discovered his love for chorale music while studying as a young boy soprano in Houston, Texas. He currently sings professionally with several local ensembles, including the Dallas Bach Society, Orpheus Chamber Singers, Schola Cantorum, St. Paul's United Methodist Choir in residence at Ely Cathedral, England, Dublin and Belfast, Ireland, and the Taipei International Choral Festival with Dr. Jerry McCoy. In 2009, he was selected to serve as a soloist in the North American premiere of Telemann's Deus, judicium tuum at the 2009 Boston Early Music Festival. Mr. Dickson has also performed under the baton of several world renowned conductors, including Maria Guinand, Stephen Cleobury and Robert Sund. Mr. Dickson received his degree in Music Education from the University of North Texas in 2009. While at UNT, Mr. Dickson sang for four years in the UNT A Capella Choir under the direction of Dr. Jerry McCoy and the Collegium Singers directed by Dr. Lyle Nordstom. |
