Laura Warriner, a mezzo soprano, is a native of Madison, Mississippi. A recent graduate of the University of North Texas' Master's Program, Ms. Warriner is an active performer of opera, early music and oratorio. In the Dallas area, she sings professionally with the Orchestra of New Spain, Orpheus Chamber Singers and the Adler Consort. In summer 2010, she performed in Weimar, Germany, in "Don Giovanni," and in scenes from "Lucia de Lammermoor" and "Die Zauberflote." In 2009 and 2010, she performed in major works with many ensembles around the country, including Turtle Creek Chorale, the Richardson Symphony, the Atlanta Classical Orchestra and the South Dakota Chorale. Her operatic venues include Lyric Opera Studio of Weimar, Opera in the Ozarks, Crested Butte Music Festival, the National Opera Association Convention in Kansas City, the UNT Opera, the University of Mississippi Opera, and the Dixon Gallery in Memphis, Tennessee. Ms. Warriner is also an active accompanist, having served as staff or rehearsal accompanist at the University of Mississippi, UNT, St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, Emmanuel Presbyterian Church and the Oxford Shakespeare Festival. She has been a private voice teacher in her hometown of Madison, Mississippi, at Lamar High School in Arlington, and at the University of North Texas. |
