Lauren Fisher

Lauren Fisher grew up in South Carolina and enjoyed beginning her singing career in a wonderful high school choral program and at the South Carolina Governor's School for the Arts.  She double-majored in both Music Education and Voice Performance at Oberlin Conservatory in Ohio.  While at Oberlin Lauren was able to sing many operatic roles as well as conduct and sing in Gilbert and Sullivan Productions mounted by students.  During the summers she studied Italian and opera abroad in Urbania, Italy.  After graduating from Oberlin, Ms. Fisher moved to Thomaston, Georgia, where she taught middle school choir and general music for 1 year.  She then moved to Peachtree City, Georgia where she experienced many successes as the assistant choir director for three years.  She had 20-30 students singing in the Georgia All-State Choir every year, established an all-female vocal jazz ensemble, and was able to help prepare the top ensemble in the program for a performance at the Georgia Music Educator's Association Convention.  While living near Atlanta, Lauren sang with the Atlanta Opera Chorus and performed leading roles with Capitol City Opera.  She also maintained a private voice studio. Her former students are graduating from programs at Georgia State University, University of Georgia, Mercer College, and NYU.

Lauren moved to Texas in 2006 to pursue a Master's Degree in Choral Conducting from the University of North Texas. While there she was able to conduct selected pieces with the Men's Choir and Collegium Orchestra and Singers. She also performed in "Romeo and Juliet" with the UNT opera. She was able to make professional recordings with the UNT A Cappella Choir and traveled with them to Taiwan last summer. After receiving her master's degree, Ms. Fisher served as the assistant choral director at Naaman Forest High School in Garland ISD.  She loved conducting the Renaissance Chamber Choir and directing the yearly madrigal dinner. She also enjoyed working with the freshmen treble choir and helping prepare the musical.

Lauren resides in Coppell and lives with her husband Jason, son Andrew, and their two Chihuahuas, Pooks and Eduardo.
