Jayme Herman - President

What do you view as the role of the choir officers in regard to choir students, choir directors, CHHS staff & students, and the community?

Choir Officers should be respectful, good role models, trustworthy and a great resource for the choir students, directors, CHHS and the community and always dedicated to doing what is in the best interest of the choir program.

What skills and/or experience do you have that make you a good candidate for leadership?

I bring experience from my past roles of being on the choir council this year and the student director of women's choir last year. I am responsible, organized, outgoing and very involved in making the choir program the best it can be.

Describe a specific project that you would like to take on as a choir officer and how you would implement this in our program.

My goal is to create an environment for underclassman choirs to immediately feel part of the choir family. I want to create messages to keep everyone in the loop and be a comfortable resource for all the choirs to experience the best of the choir program.

Emma Richard - Vice President

What do you view as the role of the choir officers in regard to choir students, choir directors, CHHS staff & students, and the community?

Choir officers are leaders not only in the choir program, but also in the community. Leadership is about putting others above oneself, and a good leader will show respect to their peers and authorities. A choir officer will set a good example for their fellow students, whether it be in the classroom or outside of school.

What skills and/or experience do you have that make you a good candidate for leadership?

I have been in the choir program for the past three years, have been a section leader in Concert Women’s Choir my sophomore year, and have been involved in choir leadership. I love meeting new people and making new friends, and one of my strengths is seeing the best in people. I like to connect with groups of people and individuals, and share a vision of that person’s potential.

Describe a specific project that you would like to take on as a choir officer and how you would implement this in our program.

I would like to set up multiple events in which everyone apart of the choir program could get to know each other, and take a step further in the choir family.

Jake Watson- Vice-President

What do you view as the role of the choir officers in regard to choir students, choir directors, CHHS staff & students, and the community?

The role of a choir officer is to simply be available to help the entire program. It is important that they help Mr. Rinn and the other officers to keep things running in the program. The officers should help to set up for concerts (an clean up), plan fun social events and assist with things such as uniforms on get-fit day.

What skills and/or experience do you have that make you a good candidate for leadership?

I have held multiple leadership positions in my Boy Scout troop, am the Secretary of the Conservative Club at our school and was the equipment manager for our choir program this year. All of these positions required me to efficiently communicate with others to get things done. I am not afraid to be assertive and get done what needs to be done.

Describe a specific project that you would like to take on as a choir officer and how you would implement this in our program.

This year I want to have more social events than we have had in the past. I feel that getting choir kids out and doing things not related to school or choir can help them bond and then work better as a choir. This is also an opportunity for Buddies to get to know one another. This can be implemented by finding a day or two every month and arranging with a location (Ex: Urban Air) to geta group rate. People can come on their own and hang out with people in choir that they may or may not have known previously.

Ben Carvajal- Vice-President

What do you view as the role of the choir officers in regard to choir students, choir directors, CHHS staff & students, and the community?

I feel that we are here to aid Mr. Rinn and more importantly aid the choir.

What skills and/or experience do you have that make you a good candidate for leadership?

I am involved in leadership, Red Jackets, NHS, DECA, Student Council, and have been I Choir since the 6th grade.

Describe a specific project that you would like to take on as a choir officer and how you would implement this in our program.

We need to find a way to get all of the students more involved. We should have a choir retreat instead of a chorale retreat.

Will Swinney- Vice-President

What do you view as the role of the choir officers in regard to choir students, choir directors, CHHS staff & students, and the community?

The role of the officers for the student is to express student voice and to express opinions that may not otherwise be heard through surveys and general discussion. The role of the officers for the choir directors is to be present when needed and take action on things that need to be done. The role of the officers for the CHHS Staff and Students is to keep the student body updated on concerts and performances alike as well as opportunities to help us reach new audiences in the community.

What skills and/or experience do you have that make you a good candidate for leadership?

I have been a member of the choir council for the last year and have seen the flaws that I would like to have the ability to correct. I am a good leader who is generally able to come up with a plan of action for tasks at hand.

Describe a specific project that you would like to take on as a choir officer and how you would implement this in our program.

As a choir officer I would like to create a way for students to express their voice whether it be an anonymous online survey or a lock box in the choir room that could be opened by the council and the directors to see what students are most wanting for the program. As well as this I would love to create some sort of a game day for the entire program where choir members participate with buddies to win prizes. I want to be creative in how to increase the amount of interaction the new choir members have with their buddies.

Audrey Money- Choir Council

What do you view as the role of the choir officers in regard to choir students, choir directors, CHHS staff & students, and the community?

I think the choir officers should be good role models for everyone in choir, and always strive to make things better. An officer should be dedicated to helping the organization, and welcoming to others. Being an officer is important because it means you are representing CHHS Choir.

What skills and/or experience do you have that make you a good candidate for leadership?

I have been in the National Charity League since 7th grade, and each year I have had a different leadership role. This has included coming up with improvements for the organization, speaking in front of other members, helping with events, sending out newsletters, etc. I think this would be very helpful for being a represntive. I also have been on my cheer gyms leadship team for the past 4 years, and every year we focus on a different project that will help the community.

Describe a specific project that you would like to take on as a choir officer and how you would implement this in our program.

If I were to focus on a specific project, I would get the choir involved more with the community. I would do this by seeing which kids are willing to preform at or help with events around town. This would also be good to get word out for our own fundraisers and events. I would also like to help organize more socials so everyone could get to know each other and be friends with students from different choirs.

Maddison Dawson- Choir Council

What do you view as the role of the choir officers in regard to choir students, choir directors, CHHS staff & students, and the community?

I feel as though the choir officers hold the responsibility to represent the choir program in a positive way, and to encourage others to also do the same. I also believe that the choir officers should be able to take initiative to inform choir students of upcoming events and assignments, and to try to keep others involved in the program. I think the officers should also be able to help out the directors by setting a good example for others, and by helping out when needed. CHHS staff and students who aren’t apart of the program should be able to tell through the officers that the program represents CHHS in a positive way as well. Officers should make non-choir students want to be apart of the program based of of all the positive things they have to say about it. Officers should also try their best to make everyone in choir feel like they are important aspects to the program.
