Panther Choir Update Week of 9/14

Dear Parents and Students:

It is hard to believe we have already made it to the end of the third week of school! Progress reports will go out this week. Please be careful to monitor grades during the upcoming 3 weeks. Although GCISD is now on a 9-Week grading period we must still follow the state UIL eligibility calendar which is on a 6-Week Grading Period. This means that at the end of week-6 students can lose eligibility for extra-curricular activities based on the 6-week progress report. It is imperative that we monitor grades carefully as we all adjust to this new system.

Please accept my sincere thanks for the many, many parents who assisted us in get fit day. I also need to publicly thank our incredible Booster Board and president Robin Krueger for her leadership in this event. We saw about 90% of our students on Saturday. While we always hope for 100% we do realize that there are circumstances beyond everyone’s control that sometimes prevents this. If you were not present to turn in the required forms and fees please send that with your students to school at your earliest possible convenience. I will be in touch shortly with a plan for getting uniforms fitted for students who missed this.

Worthington National Bank (Colleyville Blvd and Glade Rd) 10am-3pm

We need a handful of parent volunteers and a good deal of student volunteers for our annual Fall Car Wash. I have attached a flyer advertising the event to this email. Please forward to friends and family and send them our way on Saturday. We have divided the day into 2 shifts. Please consider helping us with this event as it is a major fundraiser for our program.
