Panther Choir Update 5/2/2016
Dear Parents and Students:
We completed another busy week in the Panther Choir with several major events and successes. On Tuesday, April 26 the Panther Chorale competed with 29 area choirs at the Festival di Voci hosted at Dallas Baptist University. This is the premier Choral Competition in our area, open only to Varsity level ensembles and judged by three collegiate choral directors. Choirs receive ratings and are then ranked in places 1-2 and honorable mention awards given for places 3-5. Chorale received unanimous superior ratings and was awarded an Honorable Mention. We are proud to be ranked among the top five choirs in our area! On Friday evening the Jazz Choirs presented their annual show “SING”. We have already received numerous contacts congratulating the groups on a superior concert!
Auditions and End of Year Voice Evaluations
We are running just a bit behind schedule finishing our end of year assessments and placements for next year. Our goal was to be finished by May 1, but we are still listening to students daily. Remember that all students in the choir program are required to submit an online voice evaluation in addition to the sight-reading that will occur during class time. Instructions for this evaluation are available on our website HERE. We are extending the deadline for these through the end for this week.
We have had many, many contacts concerning scheduling problems with Arena Scheduling. We are working with the counselors to solve the schedule issues. If your schedule for choir is not correct, rest assured, we can solve this problem at the completion of auditions. It isn’t productive to sort it out until we are certain what period you need to be enrolled in choir.

Please see the AUDITION PAGE for information concerning Jazz Choir auditions. Sign up for your audition time on May 12 HERE.
Spring in the Park Music Festival
Thank you to all who helped in hosting the music festival this weekend. This festival is one of our largest fundraising efforts of the year. Our student / parent workers were fantastic. We have one more weekend to host May 13-14. We primarily need student workers though we welcome any parents that would like to help (we had some fantastic ones this past weekend). PLEASE SIGN-UP HERE! The Booster Club does need parent volunteers for the concession stand - please watch for that sign up to come out from the Booster Club!
AP Testing occurs daily for the next 10 days therefore our out of school schedule is limited to allow students time to focus on testing! Please note that we have alternate schedules on Tuesday and Wednesday to accommodate STAAR EOC testing in addition to AP testing!
