Panther Choir Update 5/22/16
Dear Parents and Students:
The last few days of school continue to be an active time in the choral program. This week we completed auditions for next year, the jazz choir completed a recording project for the American Paint Horse Association (pictured - I’ll share the final product next fall when they use our recording for their advertisements), and we continue to prepare for our final concert this Tuesday, May 24. Please take note of the following as we finish up the school year.
Spring Concert, Tuesday, May 24, 7:00pm
Please join us for our final concert of the year. The award winning choirs will perform some of their contest music and then close with some “Americana” in honor of the upcoming Memorial Day Holiday. Tech Rehearsal is MONDAY 4-5:30pm. We expect that we will be able to end this rehearsal by 5pm. It is very important that we have students in place for this rehearsal as it is the only time we have to practice the combined end of the concert.

UNIFORM TURN IN
Please bring a change of clothes to the Concert on Tuesday. Immediately following the concert students will change and turn in their formal uniforms. Any uniform pieces not turned in will be billed.
MESSAGE FROM CHOIR BOOSTER CLUB BOARD
Our Board has approved the several changes to our Booster Club’s bylaws, in order to help us improve the quality of the volunteer services that our board provides for our choir members. The proposed changes can be seen HERE. Our bylaws require that we give all our members a chance to review these chances before they are presented at the General Meeting (May 24) for approval. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Robyn Schmidt at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Our Choir Banquet is this Friday, May 27. Ticket sales have been extended through the concert on Tuesday. If you would like to purchase your ticket online you may do so via our CHARMS store at https://www.charmsoffice.com/charms/shop.asp?s=CHHSChoir.
CHAMBER CHOIR AUDITIONS
The CHHS Chamber Choir is an extra-curricular choir that meets on Monday afternoons. The Choir travels to San Antonio each Spring to compete in the Chamber and Madrigal Choir Festival (this year the ensemble received a “Performance of Distinction” award placing them in the top 10 of almost 40 choirs attending. Auditions for next years group will be Thursday, May 26 from 4-5:30pm. Music for the audition will be released on Wednesday., May 25.
CHOIR AUDITION RESULTS
Choir placement for 2016-2017 was announced on Friday. Please see the announcement on our webpage for detailed information. We will be working with the counseling department this week to help get schedules corrected.
2017 CHOIR TRIP
Please watch your email for information regarding the 2017 Choir Trip before the end of the school year. We received approval last week to travel to Winter Park, Colorado next March to compete in the Winter Park Ski & Music Festival. Details regarding registration for this trip and pricing information will be sent out before the end of the school year.
2016-2017 STUDENT LEADERSHIP
Applications for 2016-2017 Student Leadership are due now. If you have missed the opportunity to turn those in, please see the information on the student leadership page and submit. Videos for elected office are due by Wednesday morning. You may email them, share via google drive, or bring to the office a flash drive.
