Panther Choir Update, Week of March 20

We hope that each of you have had a positive and relaxing Spring Break. We look forward to your return to school on Monday and all of the activities that fill up our next few weeks. It is going to be extremely busy, but also incredibly rewarding. Please take note of the following.

Winter Park Trip

We depart on Wednesday afternoon for our trip to Winter Park, CO. Please remember that any prescription medication that you need to take with you needs to be brought to school with the appropriate form AVAILABLE HERE no later than Tuesday. Please put the medicine in original bottles with the form inside of a ziplock bag and turn in to Mr. Rinn in the choir office. Non-Prescription medication should can be kept in the students luggage but we are required to keep documentation of this via the district form AVAILABLE HERE.

If you have misplaced your trip packet containing the schedule and packing list you can access it HERE.

We will load busses at 5:15pm on Wednesday. If you need to bring luggage to school on Wednesday morning that is not a problem. We will have a secure place to store the luggage open by 8:00am on Wednesday.

If you are in need of any last minute cold weather gear I noticed that Target had winter gloves and hats on clearance yesterday! We look forward to a wonderful trip!

Guest Clinician Next Week

‚ÄčOn Thursday and Friday, March 30-31 we will be joined in class and after-school by Denise Eaton who will work with all of our ensembles. Ms. Eaton is a past-president of the Texas Music Educator's Association, retired high school choir director, editor for Carl Fischer Music Publishers, and past director at Sam Houston State University. She is a master choral director and we look forward to her sharing ideas with our students. It is imperative that we have 100% attendance at these events. Please be aware that she will be present for our class times on these days. Ensembles rehearsing outside of class are listed below:

Thursday, March 30

Concert Women 4:15pm-5:45pm

Chorale Women 6:30pm-8pm

Friday, March 31

End of Nine Week Grading Period

Please note that this Friday is the end of the Nine-Week Grading Period. Grades as of 4pm on Friday will make eligibility determinations for our contest season. Remember, what matters is the grade posted on Friday, not what you turn in next week to change the grade! Please communicate with teachers and stay on top of this ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE TRAVELING TO COLORADO!
