We have several incredible opportunities for our students and our program this year, and we cannot wait to share in these experiences with you. Below you will find helpful information, dates, and events to help you begin planning for the year ahead. Please take a moment to read through the list and feel free to reach out with any questions! Schedules will be released in Skyward on Friday. The name of your choir on your schedule may not match the actual name of the choir, however, as long as you are in choir the correct class period your schedule is fine (See our Choirs Page). We have been working hard to get this right all week and will continue to make adjustments if there are problems. We look forward to seeing you all on Monday!

The Panther Choir "Get Fit Day" is one of our BEST ways to help ease the transition into a new school year with the choral program and set up our singers up for success. On "Get Fit Day" singers will be fitted for their formal choir uniforms to be used throughout the year, and parents will be able to submit all necessary district forms and fees. You will not want to miss this day! As the date approaches you will receive detailed, electronic information to better guide you through the process, and new parents will get answers to all of their questions at the meeting on August 30th.

Membership is open to any CHHS Choir member by audition. Auditions will take place during our regular rehearsal time on Monday, August 27 5:30pm-7:00pm. - TMEA All-State Choir Auditions -
Region 31 District Audition | September 22, 2018
Each year, the Texas Music Educators Association sponsors the Texas All-State audition process to promote students' dedication to their musical knowledge and skill and to encourage directors to support their students in this development. We are excited to be a large part of this process through student participation and ultimately, acceptance to the All-State Choirs. Many students have been working throughout the summer to prepare, and ALL students are welcome to jump into the process as we continue supporting your preparation! We will begin holding sectionals to help singers with their music on August 22, and will continue this on each 'A' day, 4:15-5:30 until the first audition on September 22nd. If you would like begin this process come talk to a director, and we will help you get music and start learning!
*Region 31 also holds a separate audition for 9th-10th graders new to the TMEA All-State process. More information will come out about this audition later in the semester.
- Private Voice Lessons -
We are privileged to have three outstanding voice teachers on our campus that offer private voice lessons to our students during their choir class periods. These lessons will help develop students singing and literacy, prepare students who are participating in the All-State and Region 9/10 processes, expose and engage students in solo singing, and are one of the fullest ways to better the individual voice. Any students who are interested need to fill out and return the forms linked below to Mr. Gilliland. We honor requests on a first come, first served basis, and we try to offer this opportunity to as many singers as possible. Our voice teachers will be available the first week of school to answer questions! While these lessons are tuition based, we have scholarship opportunities available through the CHHS Choir Boosters to help support our singers in the best ways we can.
