Panther Choir Newsletter 10/26/18

Happy Friday! We hope each of you has had a wonderful week and you are looking forward to a beautiful weekend without any rain! Our days have been incredibly full and incredibly rewarding the last few weeks and we are so thankful for all of the opportunities to see our students challenge themselves, pursue opportunities, and see success in all they are doing! Please take a few minutes to read about all of the events and opportunities we have coming up!

- Panther Chorale | DBU Concert -

This past week, Panther Chorale had an opportunity to perform in the beautiful Pilgrim Chapel at Dallas Baptist University along with the DBU Chorale and the Martin High School Chamber Singers. The performance concluded with a fabulous rendition of America the Beautiful performed by all three choirs together! Thanks to all the parents who attended and thank you to DBU for your hospitality and the opportunity to perform together!

- Panther Chorale | Composer Concert ft. Jake Runestad -

October 30, 2018 | 3:00pm Workshop, 7:00pm Concert | FUMC Fort Worth

This coming Tuesday, October 30, we will perform the music of composers Jake Runestad and Dr. Z Randall Stroope at First United Methodist Church Fort Worth with the Oklahoma State University Concert Chorale, the Grand Prairie Fine Arts Academy, L.D. Bell HS, and Plano West Senior HS as well as the composers themselves. The concert will begin at 7pm and is free and open to the public. If you would like to transport your singer after the performance, please fill out the form, linked below, prior to the concert performance.

11:20 pm | Meet in the CHHS Choir Room for Warm-Up

*you will skip A lunch this day

12:30 pm | Depart CHHS for FUMC Fort Worth

*800 W 5th St, Fort Worth, TX 76102

1:15 pm | Arrive FUMC Fort Worth and walk to Sundance Square for Lunch

3:00 pm | Workshop with Composers and Choirs

5:00 pm | Pizza Dinner at FUMC

7:00 pm | Concert with Jake Runestad & Dr. Z Randall Stroope

8:30 pm | Depart FUMC

9:15 pm | Arrive CHHS

- Composer Concert | Student Information -

Attire | Please wear your Choir T-Shirt (red) and Jeans during the day. Bring your concert uniform in your blue garment bag.

Lunch | Skip A lunch and meet in the new choir room. You will need money for lunch in Sundance Square. Options include fast food to upscale restaurants. Students will be allowed to travel in groups of no less than three.

Personal Items | Music and uniforms will be taken with us to FUMC Ft. Worth. Other personal items may be left in the choir room before departure and picked up upon return.

- SingOut Finalists -

Thank you to all of the students who auditioned for SingOut this year! We had more students audition than ever before, and we have included more finalists for our show than we have before also! The finals performance will be full of great performances and it will be a close competition for sure. Finalists, we will need your mp3 tracks for each of your songs uploaded to the link below by Friday, November 2nd. You will need to sign in with your school account and label your track with your first and last name. Also put our dress rehearsal on your calendar for Wednesday, November 7th, more details to come out soon!

- Butterbraid Pick-Up -

November 8, 2018 | 4:00 pm | CHHS Choir Room

Butterbraids are coming fast AND they are FROZEN! Butterbraid pick-up will happen on November 8th in the CHHS Choir room. Please make every plan to stop by this day and pick-up your orders. These items come in frozen and while that is helpful for their lifetime, it means that there can be no delay in their pickup. Thank you for your great efforts to sell and continued efforts to help us as we deliver them back out!

- Pre-Area Rehearsals -

Students advancing to the Pre-Area round of the TMEA All-State Choir process, Mr. Rinn has developed a calendar full of opportunities for both sectionals and individual rehearsals with directors! This calendar is going to be made available to you on the whiteboard in Mr. Rinn's office. Please take a moment to drop by and schedule some specific rehearsal times so we can help you be the most prepared you can be!

- Region 31 & 9/10 Honor Choir Clinic and Concert -

November 9-10, 2018 | Schedule Announced Soon | FUMC Grapevine

Students who were named to one of the our three Region 31 Honor Choirs will clinic and perform with singers from all across the area on Saturday, November 10th. We have three wonderful clinicians and this event promises to a wonderful experience for both singers and their families. Students, please take time to continue reviewing your music and learning your new pieces in preparation for this day!
