Panther Choir Newsletter | 08.30.19
Happy Labor Day (a few days early)! We hope you have a chance to take one more trip or just get some rest in our last few days before we hit the Fall. We have had an excellent second week getting to know our choirs more and beginning to dive into music together for our first concerts! We hope that you will take a few moments to read through the newsletter and plan for the upcoming events that we have planned! Have a great weekend!
- Outstanding Students -
Nick is a four year choir member, and he is heavily involved across CHHS. We are thankful for his commitment, positive attitude, and leadership that he shows through his example of engagement and effort each day!
Faith is new to choir and CHHS this year, and we are so lucky to have her in choir with us! We have so enjoyed her infectious energy and positive attitude and work ethic. She is a wonderful addition to our program!
Tori is a new student to CHHS choir this year coming from Heritage Middle School. We have loved seeing her jump into All-State sectionals and being a wonderful leader in her class each day! We are so glad to have her with us!

Choir registration or "Get Fit Day" is coming soon! This is our day to take care of all of the choir forms, fees, concert uniforms, and information you will need for the school year. We understand that there may be school conflicts on this day, but we ask that every student AND parent/guardian makes a concerted effort to attend and help us prepare for our school year. We will be passing out these forms to students in the next week to help prepare for the 7th, but you can also find them at the links below! A schedule of the day can be found next to help you plan accordingly for this day!

To prepare for the initial audition, students should choose a pop, jazz, broadway, etc. style song with an accompaniment track or live instrumental accompaniment. The song should be memorized and performance ready at the audition. Students will be selected from the audition to compete for prizes at the live show. Please note, the song that is auditioned at the initial audition will be the song to be performed in the live show. Sign up's will be out next week!

- 2019 - 2020 Voice Lessons -
Our spaces for voice lessons are filling up quickly! If you are interested, please return a form to Mr. Gilliland as soon as possible. Our teachers are available to work with any student at any skill level to help better their singing, musicianship, and overall love of music. Private voice students also have several opportunities outside of lessons to showcase and further develop their skill sets - voice recitals, master classes, solo contests, etc.
One of the incredible ways our Booster Team supports our students is through the offering of financial aid for the voice lesson program. If you are a student interested in lessons and requiring financial assistance, please fill out the scholarship application below and return to Mr. Gilliland. Please ensure full understanding of the specific expectations for students on scholarship.
