Panther Choir Newsletter | 10.11.19

A little fall weather showed up just in time for a long weekend! We hope you take advantage of the beautiful days and the time off to go to the fair, see Little Shop of Horrors, or just eat some Popeyes (chicken sandwiches now back in stock). We have several upcoming events these next two weeks so please help us by reading through this week's newsletter! Have a great weekend!

- Future Panther Night -

Friday, October 18 | 6:30 pm | Mustang-Panther Stadium

Next Friday, October 18th, All Choraliers singers will have an opportunity to perform the national anthem at the Colleyville vs. RL Turner Football Game. As a part of this performance, we invite all of our middle school choir programs to join us in the fun! CHHS Choir Singers will need to wear their black choir and performance appropriate blue jeans (please no rips and tears). All singers will need to arrive and meet their directors at the south entrance to the field underneath the scoreboard at 6:30 pm.

- Butterbraid Fundraiser -

Happening now and delivered just in time for Thanksgiving! This is our biggest fundraiser of the year, and these pastries practically sell themselves. Share with your friends, neighbors, teachers, and family. They are also great holiday gifts! Please support the choir program so we can support you! Check out the prizes below!

- Region & Honor Choir Audition -

Saturday, October 26 | 7:30 am - 12:00 pm | L.D. Bell High School

Please mark your calendars for this audition date coming soon! We will be supplying travel by bus for both the morning honor choir audition and the afternoon region choir audition. Please stay tuned for further instructions and information to be supplied to you shortly.

- Fall Concert -

Monday, October 21 | 7:30 pm | CHHS Auditorium

Our Fall concert is just two weeks away! We hope all parents, family, and friends will join us for a wonderful first showcase of the fabulous work that our choirs and all of our students have been doing so far this year. The concert schedule for our choirs will be in the newsletter in coming weeks to help you prepare, but for now, please be certain that you have planned accordingly for all uniform needs. Please take a moment to read through all of the required uniform pieces and hair, makeup, and jewelry requirements. Please ensure that all singers have black dress shoes. With Dresses: closed toe flats or low heels. With Tuxedos: black dress shoe and black socks. All dresses have been returned to the school and may be picked up by students at any time. Tuxedos are expected to be returned by Monday and should be available for pickup beginning on Tuesday. Uniforms may only be checked out once your $55 choir fee has been paid.

- Chorale UNT Invitational -

Tuesday, October 22 | 1:30 - 9:00 pm | CHHS Auditorium

Chorale will be performing as a part of the UNT invitational on Tuesday, October 22. Please continue reading for the necessary details to help be prepared for that day. This is a B day, so all students will need to take A lunch and then report to the choir room by 12:57 . Please wear performance appropriate jeans and your black choir shirt, and have your uniform packed in a garment bag. Please double check that you have included all items in your garment bag. Students will be excused for the remainder of the day. We will depart for UNT at 1:05. During our time at UNT, we will attend a vocal recital, have a clinic with Dr. Macmullen, and perform in a concert with the A Cappella choir as well as two other area high schools. Pizza will be provided for dinner, please plan to bring something if you have any dietary restrictions. The performance will be at 7:30 pm. All parents and family are welcome welcome at the Murchison Performing Arts Center at UNT (free admission) . We will be returning to the school by 9:30 pm. If you plan to have alternate transportation from UNT back to CHHS, you will need to fill out the Alternative Transportation Form. If you are returning with a non-family member, you will need to also print and return the District Transportation Form to the choir office by Friday, October 18th.

- CHHS Choir Forms -

If you have not returned forms and fees or been fitted for a uniform, please understand that each of these components is necessary and required in order to participate in our choral program throughout the year and can negatively influence a student's grade when unable to fully participate. We are excited to have you/your student in our program, and we look forward to getting these items taken care of so that they may fully participate in the Panther Choir.
